About Tidy & Stow
A site about two questions nobody in this category answers: what does it hold, and will it fit.

Why this site exists
Search for renter storage and you get ideas. Thirty of them, photographed beautifully, and not one load rating or dimension among them. That is fine if you are browsing. It is useless if you are standing in a rental holding a shelf, wondering whether the wall will take it and whether the thing will even fit between the window and the corner.
Those two questions -- what does it hold and will it fit -- decide essentially every purchase in this category, and the answers are published. They are just published one product at a time, in manuals and spec sheets nobody reads, never side by side. Putting them side by side is the whole job of this site. There are currently 26 products and 35 pages of it.
There is a third question underneath both, which is what it leaves behind. Reversibility is treated here as a first-class criterion rather than a nice-to-have, because for a renter it is a money question: the deposit is the stake.
Who writes this
Scooter M.. An enthusiast who is genuinely into this: I read the manuals, compile the published specs, and do the measuring. No lab coat.
That framing is deliberate and it is the honest one. I am not a certified organizer, not a contractor, and not an engineer, and you should be suspicious of a website that tells you otherwise. What I am is someone who will read a Command surface-guidance page, a Kwik-Hang FAQ and four retailer listings for the same caddy, notice that two of them disagree about its rated load, and put that disagreement on the page instead of picking the flattering number.
What this site refuses to do
- Claim testing we have not done. We own none of these products and have run no tests. You will never read "in our testing" here, and where a competitor claims a three-month test, we simply do not compete on that ground.
- Invent credentials. No certifications, no expert panel, no years of experience, no staff that do not exist.
- Fabricate numbers. Every load rating and dimension names its source. Where nothing is published, the page says so. No figure here is estimated, interpolated or remembered.
- Publish reviews we did not collect. There are no star ratings from customers on this site and no testimonials, because we have not gathered any.
- Invent a company history. This site launched in 2026. There is no founding story, no office and no team behind that sentence.
The method, briefly
Manufacturer documentation first, published standards second, retailer listings third and labeled as such, nothing else ever. Products are ranked on published load, fit range, reversibility, quality of documentation and price-to-capability. Every roundup names something to skip. The full version, including what the method cannot tell you, is on how we pick.
How it is funded
Amazon Associates commission, at no extra cost to you, on purchases made through links here. No sponsored placements, no free products, no relationship with any manufacturer named on the site. Commission plays no part in what gets recommended -- see the affiliate disclosure for the full statement and the editorial policy for how corrections are handled.
Getting in touch
If a figure on this site looks wrong, tell us: info@tidyandstow.com, or use the contact form. Corrections get made and logged with a date. A discontinued product counts as an error worth reporting, because a dead recommendation is a broken one.
