Editorial Policy and Corrections

What we will publish, what we will not, how often we re-check it, and where our mistakes get logged.

Sourcing standard

Every load rating, dimension and material claim on this site is traceable to a document somebody else published, and the source is named on the page beside the figure. In priority order: manufacturer documentation, then published standards where one applies, then retailer product listings labeled as such. Never another affiliate site's numbers, never a forum, never an AI-generated roundup, never memory.

Where two sources disagree, we publish both and say they disagree. Where nothing is published, we write "the manufacturer does not publish a rated load" and stop there. Neither of those is a gap in our research; both are findings, and they are the reason this site exists.

We do not test, and we do not pretend to

There is no lab here, no owned units, no long-term trial. You will not read "in our testing" on this site, and you will not find a credential we do not hold. What we do instead -- compile, measure against real constraints, compute and cite -- is set out on how we pick, along with an explicit list of what that method cannot tell you.

Re-verification cadence

  • Prices: refreshed daily from a live feed. A price older than 48 hours disappears rather than being displayed. A price refresh never changes a page's "last updated" date, because the content did not change.
  • Spec tables: re-verified against current manufacturer documentation every six months. The modified date moves only if a figure actually changed.
  • Picks: reviewed every six months, and immediately whenever a product is discontinued or its specification is revised.
  • Discontinued products: removed or replaced as soon as we know. A dead buy link is a broken recommendation, not a cosmetic problem.
  • Trust pages: reviewed annually, and immediately on any change to how the site is funded.

Independence

No advertiser, manufacturer or retailer sees our content before it is published, and none has any influence over what we recommend or how we rank it. We accept no free products and run no sponsored placements. We earn Amazon Associates commission on purchases made through our links, which is disclosed above the first link on every commercial page and in full on the affiliate disclosure.

How this content is produced

Plainly, because being vague about this is worse than being clear: Scooter M. writes and edits this site with AI assistance for drafting and for the mechanical work of pulling published specifications into comparable tables. Every figure that reaches a page is checked against the source that is cited next to it, and no product, rating, dimension or price is ever generated from a model's recollection. Where a source could not be reached or does not publish a figure, the page says so rather than filling the gap.

Corrections policy

If something here is wrong, we want to know, and the fix gets logged below with a date. We correct silently only for typographical errors that do not change meaning; anything that changes a figure, a recommendation or a fit claim is logged. To report something, use the contact form -- there is a "a figure on the site looks wrong" option -- or email info@tidyandstow.com.

Corrections log

No corrections have been logged yet. This site published on September 1, 2026. When there is something to log, it appears here as a dated entry naming the page, what was wrong, and what it now says -- not quietly edited away.

What we will never publish

  • A testimonial or customer review we did not collect.
  • A star rating we did not generate through a stated method.
  • A price that is not live, or one typed into the content by hand.
  • A product recommendation for a program we have not joined.
  • A claim of testing, ownership or credentials we do not have.
  • An ASIN, a specification or a dimension that was not read from a real source.
